Uttar Pradesh: Offensive comment against Yogi Adityanath, sedition case filed
The Allahabad Police has registered a case in this regard. The FIR states that the accused youth, through his Facebook post, has tried to disrupt peace in the country and insult Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Lucknow: A sedition case has been registered against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for making objectionable remarks on social media.
The case has been registered at Shivkuti Police Station, Allahabad. It is alleged that the youth had made objectionable comments against Chief Minister Yogi on Facebook regarding the case of migrant laborers.
According to the report of Indian Express, based on the complaint of Sub Inspector Amrita Singh, an FIR was registered on Saturday.
Police say a case has been registered against the accused named Anoop Singh under sections 124A, 500, 188 of the IPC and section 66 of the Information Technology Act.
The FIR said, “Rajesh Kumar Shukla, resident of Allahabad, said in his Facebook post that I do not understand why Priyanka Gandhi Vadra did not hire Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation buses for migrant laborers? On this post, resident of Allahabad, Anoop Singh had made objectionable remarks against Yogi Adityanath. Through his Facebook, he is trying to disturb the peace of the country and insult honorable Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Allahabad SSP Satyarth Anirudh Pankaj said that detailed information about the accused has not been known yet.
He said, ‘We are investigating the matter. Our cyber cell teams are collecting information about the accused. We are also scrutinizing his old Facebook posts and will find out soon. ‘
