Call SP & Collector, Khandwa, MP to ensure safe and immediate release of all persons

10th July 2021: As per information received from saathis of Jagrit Adivasi Dalit Sangathan (JADS), in Madhya Pradesh, young social activist Nitin Verghese, along with 8 other adivasi saathis have been kidnapped by forest officials in Khandwa district of MP, a while back.
Reportedly, houses and fields in one village on forest land are been demolished. Nitin and some karyakartas reached the spot when 4 members of the affected families including one woman Budia w/o Lalu (40), her twelve year old daughter Pooja d/o Lalu, along with Ramlal s/o Buda and Sheka s/o Harsing were forcibly picked up and taken away by forest officials.
Apparently, when Nitin and others complained about this to the DFO who was at the spot, they were also picked up and their phones snatched!
Condemn this high handedness of the forest Department in Khandwa.
Call the SP and Collector, Khandwa to immediately and safely release all the arrested persons and stop the demolition drive.
