Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government on Friday imposed fresh sanctions to control the spread of Kovid-19 in the state. According to the new restrictions, vegetable and grocery shops and department stores will be allowed to work until 10 am. Earlier they were allowed to keep them open till 12 noon.

Apart from these, e-commerce websites and other important delivery platforms are also allowed to operate till 10 am. The state government has made e-registration mandatory for inter-district travelers and reiterated that the weekend lockout and night curfew will continue in the southern state.

In addition, fish and meat shops in Chennai have been asked to shift to these places to avoid congestion. Under the new orders, platform shops selling tea, fruits and flowers will be banned until further orders.
There are 31,892 new cases of Kovid-19 in Tamil Nadu
The Times Now reported 31,892 new COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu on Friday. 6538 / 31,892 cases were reported in Chennai.

According to the Department of Health, 1,53,363 people were tested today. 20,037 patients were discharged and 288 new deaths occurred. With today’s number, the total number of cases in Tamil Nadu has increased to 15,31,377. So far 13,18,982 have been discharged and 17,056 have died.
Several states, including Kerala, Maharashtra and other states, have extended the COVID-19 limits to prevent the spread of the deadly disease within their jurisdiction. Earlier today, PM Narendra Modi had warned that COVID-19 was spreading in rural areas and urged people to follow the rules to prevent its spread.
