China should release medical records of sick Wuhan lab workers

Drs. Anthony Fauci wants to review medical records of nine people in China with diseases that could help detect the origin of the coronavirus, he said.

Fauci has asked China to release the records following a public review on the assumption that instead of appearing in nature, the coronavirus may have been developed by scientists and leaked to Wuhan Laboratory, China.

“I would like to see medical records of three people who were reported to be ill in 2019,” said Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and senior medical adviser to President Joe Biden. “Are they really sick, and if so, why?
Fauci was referring to the cases of three researchers from the Wuhan Institute of Virology who were reportedly hospitalized in November 2019 after falling ill.

Fauci also expressed interest in the records of six miners who became ill after entering a mine to clean up bat droppings. Three miners died.
“It’s the same with sick miners years ago. … What are the medical records of those people? Fauci said. “Was there a virus in those people? What was it? It is entirely thought that the origin of Sars-Cov-2 was in that cave and began to spread naturally or through the lab. ”

Fauci, who previously dismissed Wuhan lab leak’s opinion, said authorities should continue to look into the origin of the virus.

Other Republicans, including Sen. Tom Cotton, of Arkansas, began suggesting that the leak may be open in early April 2020.
