Modi ‘biggest job destroyer’, govt ignoring job crisis in India

Attacking the government over the “job crisis”, the Congress on Wednesday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi “the biggest destroyer of jobs” and said his government had become “synonymous with unemployment”.

In a comprehensive attack on the government, the opposition party said that Prime Minister Modi came to power promising to give two crore jobs a year, but after five years unemployment and unemployment were at a “45-year high”.

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala told a news conference that “Modi is destroying the biggest jobs. The Modi government has become synonymous with unemployment in this country.”

Accusing the government of destroying the Indian economy, he said the Modi government had reached several new heights.

“Economic growth is at a 5-year low. Agricultural income growth is at a 14-year low. Frequent investment is at a 14-year low. Private investment is at a 7-year low. Industrial growth is at a 1.7 percent (down from 7.5% a year ago). FDI growth is at a five-year low and core sector growth is at a two-year low, ”he said.
