RABBANA AFRIGH ALAINA SABR (PATIENCE DUA)

In Surah Baqarah near ayah 250, it reaches the end of the battle of talut and jalut (talut is the Arabic of Saul, king of Israel).
If you do not know this story Talut wants to test the discipline of his people and the power to follow the instructions before continuing the battle, so he told his people Allah will test you with the river, so do not drink from it. Only a few obeyed his command, and they were among those who continued to march with Talut.
The English translation of Surah Baqarah ayah 249 read,
“And when Saul went out with the army, he said,” Indeed, Allah will test you with a river. Therefore whoever drinks from it does not belong to me, and whoever does not taste it from me, except the one who takes it from his hand. ”But they drank from it, except for very few of them.
As soon as their armies crossed the river and stood in front of the jalut (goliath) they saw that they were very numerous. From a distance it seemed that there was only one army of men but they could not properly measure the size of the army, when they got close and did not see the end of the enemy, it just got bigger and bigger as they approached.
Continuation of ayah 249,
When he had crossed over, he and his fellow believers said, “We have nothing against anyone today; we must go up against Goliath and his men.” But those who were sure that they would meet Allah said, “How many small companies have won a large company with the permission of Allah. And Allah has those who encourage them. ”
Now, a water test has been done, and they have crossed the river and now face Goliath’s huge army. They did not turn their backs, but took courage by reading the dua recited in Surah Baqarah ayah 250 before entering the battle.
RABBANA AFRIGH ALAYNA SABRAN FULL DUA SAYS:
In Arabic this sabah dua is given in Baqarah ayah 250,

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْراً وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى القَوْمِ الكَافِرِينَ
Rabbana afrigh alayna sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna alal-qawmil-kafirin
English Meaning: Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

The beauty of this dua is that it asks Allah to immerse us in the sabr, which means to destroy us completely or to pour us into patience. As stated in verse 249, Allah has those who have sabr, and even a small army with Allah can defeat the great.
It goes on to ask Allah to ‘plant our feet firmly’, which does not mean that He has given us strength, courage, and courage. These are just some of the goal setting shareware that you can use. To have a good foundation requires strength, otherwise you will just be arrogant and let people walk over you. Therefore Allah, please plant our feet firmly.
The last request made by man was victory, especially the victory of unbelievers, in this case jalut. Ayah 251 concludes the outcome of the war,
“So they defeated them with the permission of Allah, David killed Goliath, Allah gave him kingship and apostleship and taught him what he loved. And if it were not for Allah looking at some people through others, the world would be corrupt, but Allah is full of gentleness of the world. “
